CAPE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR by Burt Albert

After a nationwide search, the Cape Museum of Fine Arts announced today the appointment of Donald E. Knaub as its new executive director, effective March 4, 2002. Mr. Knaub is a former director of the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas and the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. "Don brings to the post a depth and breadth of experience that is truly outstanding," said Joseph A. Signore, president of the CMFA Board." Knaub not only has more than 20 years experience as a Museum Director, he has significant curatorial, fund-raising, acquisition and endowment expertise as well as a reputation for community outreach and engagement. Don will be working with Lou Ann Harrington, Deputy Director and the professional staff at the museum to reinforce the museum’s mission as a key cultural and educational institution on the Cape. Don and his wife Karen are thrilled to be relocating to Cape Cod and are looking forward to making the transition into the community.
